Programme and tickets

Join us from midday on the 7th of May 2017 to learn from these fantastic speakers:

  • Joanne Harris – author and literary activist
  • Alex Wheatle – award-winning young adult author
  • Whatever happened to the avant garde? with Elizabeth-Jane Burnett, Stewart Home and Sam Mills
  • Jennifer Hewson – literary agent with Rogers, Coleridge and White
  • International writing – Arifa Akbar, deputy editor of literary magazine, Wasafiri
  • How to make a living as a writer – author and ghostwriter, Roz Morris

Tickets are available here.

We’ll also have readings of the winning short stories from the 2017 competition for our newsletter subscribers. As always, there’ll be time to meet fellow writers, get drinks from the bar, and browse our bookstall.

Although the space we use is undercover and heated, we do suggest you wrap up warm if the weather isn’t being kind on the day. Most of the seating is wooden, so bring a cushion to sit on if you fancy. While there will be some food on sale, there are plenty of places to buy alternative options just outside the venue.

The full event schedule is:

12 – Arifa Akbar of Wasafiri

1 – Jennifer Hewson of RCW agents

2 – lunch break

3 – How to make money from writing with Roz Morris

4 – Whatever happened to the avant garde? panel discussion

5 – Alex Wheatle

6 – Joanne Harris

  1. We’ll be in the (undercover, heated) beer garden at the Prince of Wales pub in Moseley, Birmingham. Hope to see you there.
